Hello and Welcome to Vagabond Journey.com
Howdy, my name is Wade and I'm a traveler. For
the past nine years I have been traveling the world - 40+
countries on five continents. What follows are my impressions of
the world as I move through it: the musings of the wanderlust.
This is the record of my vagabond journey around the world. Walk
slow, Wade

Travel Inspiration Well
The Travel
Inspiration Well is a collection of quotes, stories,
and anecdotes from travel literature that has the
intention of inspiring the traveler to keep going on
long journeys or to take the first steps. These quotes
have been copied directly from my own travel notebooks,
and have always kept me inspired whenever the path ahead
looks a little dark, as well as joyous when the going is
good. Travel is for the romantic.

Great Travel Quote:
"Of the gladdest moments, me thinks, in human life, is the
departing upon a distant journey into unknown lands. Shaking off
with one effort the fetters of Habit - the leaden weight of
Routine - the cloak of carking Care, and the slavery of Home -
man feels once more happy."
- Richard Francis Burton

Directory
of Travel Information by Topic - This is an index, or collection if you
will, of travel topics that I find of interest. From hitchhiking, discussions of
travel gear, camping and mountain climbing, to bicycle travel, this is where I
stash the information, links, and articles that I have been collecting.
Travel
Photos - The world at large. A large collection of travel photos from nearly
ever corner of the globe. This index is always growing fast, as I like to
publish fifty photos a day, so it is a good way to observe what I pass through
in my travels. These photos are meant to represent what is ordinary and
extraordinary about the world that we live in.
Travelogue -
From June of 2008 this is where I write daily of my travels, discoveries, and blunders.
For posts from 2004 to 2008 go to Song of
the Open Road Travel Blog.
Essays focus mainly around sharing travel knowledge through my own experience of
traveling the world. Stories, yarns, conversations, hearsay, and jokes round out this
travel blog. This writing is meant, more than anything else, to be just a small
peep-hole upon the planet at large. Feel free to ask questions or leave
comments, knock me to the ground or help me back up to my feet. This is just a
share of experience, knowledge, and backcountry humor from a man in perpetual
motion. Go to
Travel Blog Directory to view all posts.
Travel
Articles - Formal writings for publications. I have previously written for Cafe
Abroad, Glimpse, and Abroad View magazines, as well as published articles in
various spheres of the internet world. Also included are unpublished
articles, raw interviews, thick description notes, and research about whatever
has stricken my fancy is this wide, wide world.
Vagabond Field
Notes
- Traveler tracks left for other travelers. This is where I leave my tracks for
the assistance (or avoidance) of other travelers. I average less than $15 a day
while traveling - these fieldnotes are meant to share the places that I have
found cheap or free meals, beds, internet, and fun.
Travel Tips
-
This is a collection of tips, advice, and mistakes learned from that could be of
use to travelers. Take these tips and use them . . . or just leave them where
they lay.
Travel and Country Information
- This is where I share my travel history as well as collect information on
various travel destinations.
| Travel Questions - Thinking about
traveling? Unsure about your first trip? Do you have questions about anything
that is travel related? Want some reassurance, inspiration, advice? Then please
ask away! This is a forum of questions that readers have asked me, which I have
answered and published here to be of assistance to other travelers. Send all
questions to Wade at

Book Reviews-
Travel literature reviewed, talked about, and discussed. From the Vagabond
Journeys of Harry Franck to the Romantic out-pourings of Halliburton to the

reveled in.
