Emperor Shennong is said to have been the inventor of Chinese tea in the third
millennium BC. The story goes that he was out traveling in the countryside when he stopped for a break under the shade of a large tree.
Now, the Emperor liked to have his water boil to be sure of its cleanliness, so his servant was out boiling some when a few leaves from a nearby
tea bus fell into the pot, turning the water a light brown. This oversight went unnoticed, and when the Emperor drank the water he found it to be
mighty refreshing, and, henceforth, Chinese tea was drank for the first time.
